Terms and Conditions

 

Introduction
By engaging Make Moving Easy DC LTD, you ("the Customer") agree to comply with the following Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions become legally binding as soon as a move is booked in and confirmed in writing by ourselves, regardless if a deposit is paid and regardless of whether the Customer has signed any formal agreement.

 

 

Services Provided
Make Moving Easy DC LTD agrees to provide professional and comprehensive removal services for the Customer's house move from the current address to the new address on the agreed moving date. Our experienced and skilled team will handle the Customer's belongings with the utmost care, ensuring they are transported safely and efficiently. 

 

Fees
Each move/transport is quoted individually. The total fee for the house move service will be provided in the agreed quotation and is payable as follows:

 

Deposit: 10% of the total fee is due upon payment and before any services are rendered. This deposit is 20% if the move requires a 7.5tonne lorry.


Balance: The remaining balance is due on the day of the move.
The fee may be subject to adjustment if additional services are required, such as the inclusion of extra items or additional pickup/drop-off locations.

 

Packing Services


A. Standard Packing Service
Make Moving Easy DC LTD offers a standard packing service where our professional team will carefully pack all items in the Customer’s home, ensuring they are adequately protected for transit. The Customer must inspect and confirm that all items have been packed to their satisfaction before the move begins.


B. Additional Packaging
For items that require special handling due to their size, value, or fragility, the Customer must notify the packing team and provide or agree a pursase with us of additional protective materials (e.g., bubble wrap or packing paper) to ensure proper packaging.

 

C. Goods in Transit Insurance
The Customer’s property is covered under Make Moving Easy DC LTD goods in transit insurance. For further details regarding coverage, exclusions, and conditions, the Customer may request additional information from Make Moving Easy DC LTD.

D. Claims for Damage

All damage claims must be reported to Make Moving Easy DC LTD within 24 hours of the move. Claims submitted after this period will not be considered, in order to prevent fraudulent claims.
To make any claim, the Customer must provide an inventory with timestamped and dated photos of the items to be insured. These photos must be taken within 24 hours before the move. If no such photos are provided, no claim will be paid out under any circumstances.
E. Exclusions from Damage Claims

Make Moving Easy DC LTD  will not be liable for any damage claims relating to items packed in boxes by the Customer, regardless of the condition of the boxes or the packing methods employed.
Make Moving Easy DC LTD will not be liable for any damage claims arising from breakage or damage to glass or screen items, including but not limited to glass units, glass shelves, glass doors, monitors, televisions, and other electronic display devices.

F. Claim terms - Please note that Make Moving Easy DC LTD has a maximum of 365 days from point of admission to pay out for any claim.

G. In the event of damage occurring that is solely cosmetic in nature, including but not limited to paint damage, scratches, or scuffs, Make Moving Easy DC LTD will provide compensation up to a maximum amount of £100 for the entire move, regardless of the number of items affected. No further compensation will be offered beyond this amount.

H. Make Moving Easy DC LTD will pay a flat fee of £20 per square foot, for dents, marks, or scratches less than 20cm long.

 

Outstanding Payments and Debt Collection
Payment Terms: The Customer agrees to pay all invoices issued by Make Moving Easy DC LTD(the "Company") and all other franchises in full and without deduction or set-off. Payment for all services rendered must be made immediately upon completion of the move, before the Company’s operatives leave the site. No goods, services, or documentation shall be provided to the Customer unless payment has been made in full.

Late Payments: In the event that any payment due to the Company remains unpaid after the completion of the move, the Customer acknowledges and agrees that:

a) The Company may, at its sole discretion, instruct third-party debt collection agencies or legal representatives to recover the outstanding sums, irrespective of any ongoing or prior disputes concerning the Customer's satisfaction with the goods or services provided.

b) The Company may charge interest on any overdue amounts in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 or any statutory amendments thereto, as well as any reasonable costs incurred in the collection of overdue debts, including but not limited to legal fees and debt collection agency fees.

No Impact on Disputes: The Customer acknowledges that the use of debt collection services or the commencement of legal action by the Company shall not be suspended or deferred due to any dispute regarding the quality or satisfaction of the goods or services provided. Any such disputes shall be handled separately from any payment obligations.

Termination of Services: The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate any ongoing services, deliveries, or other obligations to the Customer if any payment remains overdue beyond the terms specified in this agreement.

Payment Upon Completion: For the avoidance of doubt, payment in full must be made immediately upon completion of the move and before the Company’s operatives leave the site. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the Company exercising its right to take further action under this clause.

Make Moving Easy DC LTD responsibilities:

 

Make Moving Easy DC LTD undertakes to:
Transport belongings to the designated address.
Maintain open and transparent communication with the Customer regarding the progress of the move.

 


Customer Responsibilities
The Customer agrees to:
Provide an accurate and complete description of all items to be moved, either in person during the initial quote appointment, or in writing via email or SMS.
Inform Make Moving Easy DC LTD in writing prior to the move of any items valued over £500.
Ensure all items are adequately packed to withstand normal handling during transit unless utilizing Make Moving Easy DC LTD packing service, in which case the Customer must inspect and confirm satisfaction with the packing.
Keep Make Moving Easy DC LTD updated about any delays involving solicitors or other aspects of the move.


Waiting Time for Keys
No waiting fee will be charged for any delays in receiving keys until 3:00 PM on the day of the move.
After 3:00 PM, a £50 per hour fee will be charged for any additional waiting time due to delays in house completion or receiving the keys.
If the delay exceeds 6 hours or more, a flat fee of £300 will be applied for waiting time.


Limitation of Liability
Make Moving Easy DC LTD will exercise all due care in handling the Customer’s belongings. However, Make Moving Easy DC LTD liability for any loss or damage to the Customer’s property is limited to the amount recoverable under Make Moving Easy DC LTD goods in transit insurance, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined in the policy.

Make Moving Easy DC LTD will not pay out any claims for glass or screen damage, including but not limited to glass units, glass shelves, glass doors, monitors, televisions, and other electronic display devices.

Make Moving Easy DC LTD reserves the right to refuse to pay any claim for damage, even after admission of liability.

 

Termination
A. If the Customer terminates the service, the deposit is non-refundable.
B. If the Customer cancels within 24 hours of the move date, a Last-Minute Cancellation Fee of £199 will be invoiced. This fee is waived if the Customer rebooks the move with Make Moving Easy DC LTD and pays an additional 10% deposit.
C. If the Customer rebooks with another company after agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, a £199 fee will be charged. A £39 fee will be charged if another company is booked solely for packing or unpacking services.

 

GDPR Compliance
Make Moving Easy DC LTD will handle all personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Personal data provided by the Customer will only be used for the purpose of providing removal services and will not be shared with third parties without the Customer’s consent, except where required by law.

 

Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

 

Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire understanding between the parties and supersede any prior agreements or representations.

 

Supersession of Previous Terms
These Terms and Conditions replace and supersede any and all previous agreements, terms, and conditions between the parties. By accepting these terms, the user acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these updated terms, which take precedence over any prior versions."
